Around the Bay in a Day               Sunday February 4th

 

          On a day that threatened to give us 34 degrees in the shade, 15 Bodies on 12 bikes assembled at Laverton Macca’s. A good turnout considering the weather and the three day ride on the prior weekend.

 

            Just after 10 we set off over Westgate through Port Melbourne and around the bay to Steve and Kazza’s place at Bon Beach.

 

            Prior to lunch (an appetising BBQ and Salad ) a few us jumped into the bay for a swim and paddle in an inflatable canoe. Some even managed to fall out – with a little bit of a help!.

 

            After lunch, most continued on our ride (3 Slackers, or was that smart people!. – stayed to continue swimming) through Patterson Lakes and onto the Mornington Peninsula freeway to Dromana and the ride up to Arthurs seat for a short break. We continued down the back through Red Hills and back around onto the Nepean Hwy. Then around the bay onto Sorrento for the 4pm Ferry to Queenscliffe.

 

            A quick stop in Queenscliffe once we’d disembarked, for a Nevbreak and then all proceeded on their way home.

 

            Many thanks to Steve and Kazza for their hospitality on the day!!. Fortunately the temperature didn’t quite reach its forecast.
