The Brass Monkey Ride -

year and another opportunity to get cold, wet and dirty on the annual Brass
Monkey Ride.
This year groups coll=
ected at
three start points for the ride. The “ Highway Inn” Werribee ( =
for
the Werribee etc guys ), Macca’s at Bacchus Marsh ( for the guys nort=
h of
town ) and at Bannockburn ( for the Geelong guys ).
This worked really we=
ll until
very late Friday night when the start time was changed to 10 am at Werribee,
from 9.30. ( Gave me a chance to relax in front =
of the
pseudo log fire with a “cino” in hand ). We left at 10 arriving=
at Bannockburn to meet the Geelong members. Only to find either Sh=
rek or
Wayne were running late and had delayed their departure. After half an hour=
of
waiting, we continued on to Winchelsea were we settled into a light lunch.
Didn’t have a burger myself but they looked great – a full handful !!.
After about ten minut=
es the
rest of the group arrived. With Shrek and Wayne still deciding who had held
them up leaving Kyneton. With=
the weather looking threatening we pushed on to Skenes Cre=
ek. Only getting some showers on the way.

just started drinking.
The plan to create ou=
r own
pizza masterpieces worked a treat with Shrek and Erwin pumping out too nume=
rous
to count of many different varieties – yum !! all went down well. By this stage a few of the guys we=
re
getting a bit noisy from a few drinks . We found=
out
that Dave talks in riddles and slurs a bit and Rob calls everybody “
numb-nuts “ and likes walking around in his thermals.
By midnight these two=
had
been lost and found a couple of times. The last being Dave who earlier had =
been
rescued from the police – allowed to leave the Motel – and then
found again later walking the streets not knowing were he was. <=
/span>
On the way home inste=
ad of
following the Great Ocean Road we travelled out over Lavers Hill and back
through Colac to Home.

attended with 15 bikes and 4 cars ( with some pe=
sty
children in them ). Well done again Shrek !!. and much thanks to Erwin for supplying the pizza bases=
and
breakfast for us all.
